At San Diego State University’s (SDSU’s) HealthLINK Center for
Transdisciplinary Health Disparities Research (SDSU HealthLINK
Center), our vision is to inspire transformational and
collaborative research that promotes health and well-being for all
people and communities. Fundamental to our mission is the

1.2 miles off the SDSU campus and benefit from the culture of

The Center offers a wide range of research services, housing
expertise in multiple research methods and establishing an IT
infrastructure to support varied research needs and data analytics
applications across the university to enhance health disparities
research. The Center is designed to support research projects led
by SDSU investigators and affiliated partner organizations,
including those funded as Research Projects, as Pilot Projects, or
who access our services through a cost recovery system.
We are seeking a bright, energetic, and highly organized individual
to serve as the administrator of the Center’s web platforms. SDSU
HealthLINK Center’s current platforms include the Health Science
Research Portal (HSRP), using a hosted Hubzero platform, and the
SDSU HealthLINK Center’s website using WordPress. The Web Platform
Administrator will manage web content and user communities across
these platforms. The Web Platform Administrator will monitor and
maintain a safe, secure, and efficient user experience by
implementing security protocol, supporting users, and updating
Center platforms’ content. In addition to being technically savvy,
we are seeking someone who possess strong probem solving, critical
thinking, active listening, and time management skills.

Responsibilities
limited to:
Administration and Support of Center Web Platforms
(50%)
- Serve as primary point of contact for HubZero Development and
Support Teams and other vendors regarding the HSRP and SDSU
HealthLINK Center Website(s) - Collaborate with the Center’s IT Working Group to coordinate
efforts with HubZero to develop and maintain the HSRP, including
coordinating resolution of reported issues by HUBzero Team - Coordinate with Center and SDSU IT Teams, and other Center
members on web development projects - Coordinate and perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for Center
sites and across platforms with potential user groups - Perform website security and functionality monitoring and
usability testing - Manage user community and grant appropriate access to new
members - Engage with the user community through support tickets to
promptly respond to inquiries, resolve questions and triage
requests - Verify reported issues and triage issues requiring escalation
to the HUBzero support team for remediation - Ensure compliance with California State University Accessible
Technology Initiative Accessibility Requirements - Invoke periodic Siteimprove scans to identify issues with site
accessibility and usability
Adminstration and Support of Web Platform Content
(40%)
- Manage, review, maintain, and moderate web content on the
Center WordPress website(s) and Health Science Research Portal
(HSRP) on a hosted HubZero hub - Liaise with the Center’s Communication Specialist related to
content development, appearance, and branding for Center website
and HSRP - Contribute to technical documentation of best practice and
processes for use of Center web resources - Develop communication campaigns to promote the Center websites
and HSRP - Develop training materials and conduct trainings for user
community to promote usage of Center web resources - Provide training to designated Center staff to support the
management and moderation of Center web resources - Develop periodic reports on community usage, impact of
community products, identified gaps, and recommended improvements
in services - Collaborate with the Center evaluation team for web resource
evaluation activities - Track and report site metrics with Google Analytics
Other Duties and Responsibilities as Assigned
(10%)
- Attending trainings, classes and meetings, including taking
minutes, as requested - Ensuring compliance with SDSURF policies and procedures across
all functions listed above - Contribute to the Center’s annual progress report
- Participate in Center evaluation activities as required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Knolwedhe of and experince with serving as site administrator
for website design, with specifc experience in HTML and
WordPress. - Strong working knowledge using website technology systems and
software packages to administer software platform - Experience with web content management; comfortable working
with user interfaces (UI) - Experience with website development and maintenance, following
a user-centered design approach - Knowledge of Accessibility Compliance (508 Compliance).
- Must have excellent customer service skills and be efficient at
guiding conversations so the work and tasks can be completed in a
timely fashion - Ability to apply independent judgment, discretion and reasoning
to address a wide range of problems and develop solutions, and to
identify and refer more complex problems to appropriate staff - Experince working and manage different teams internal and
external to the organization, such as technical and non-technical
audiences - Ability to plan and prioritize work activities to meet
orgaiznational goals and deliverables. - Competence in understanding, interpreting, and communicating
procedures, policies, information, ideas and instructions - Highly motivated self-starter and independent learner, with a
high energy level and strong interpersonal skills - Strong oral and written communication skills,
- Accurate and efficient keyboard skills
- Ability to demonstrate strong organizational and
time-management skills - Ability to understand and follow posted work rules and
procedures - Ability to display motivation, initiative, and quickly
transition and reassess priorities as needed to meet deadlines - Strong working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint,
and Google Suite draft and compose correspondence, standard reports
and spreadsheets, memos, and other documents - Ability to be organized, demonstrate detail orientation,
possess and demonstrate good judgment and common sense - Ability to demonstrate a high level of cross-cultural
sensitivity
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems,
educational technology, communications, or related field or similar
certified coursework in applicable field of study
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Two years of progressively responsible work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- General understanding of SSH and Linux-based servers.
- Understanding of Apache and SQL services, and ability to
restore, backup, and configure such services to support Center’s
needs. - Experience in an academic or research environment, and/or
within complex and interdisciplinary settings - Bilingual in English and Spanish, reading, writing and
speaking
