Liberty Mutual Insurance Hiring for Claims Resolution Specialist, Casualty Job at Remote Full Time

Note: At this time, most of our employees are working remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Candidates who are selected for this position will be trained remotely and must be able to work successfully from home. Following that, you may be asked to come into an office for collaborative activities with your team, as needed.

The salary range posted reflects the range for the various locations below as well as the varying payscale that encompasses each of these regions and the overall cost of living for that region.

Start date for this position will be November 21, 2022.

The Senior Claims Resolution Specialist Claims is an experienced position handling attorney represented and litigated 1st and 3rd party coverages for auto and homeowner’s. Independently or with minimal direction manages claims that present moderate exposure, coverage or liability. Investigates and resolves claims within prescribed authority limits consistent with policy and legal requirements. Ensures delivery of high quality customer service to protect our insured, and assets of the company.

Responsibilities:

• Manages, investigates and evaluates coverage, liability and damages, in order to effectively negotiate and settle moderate claims within prescribed authority levels.
• Plans and conducts investigations of claims to analyze and confirm coverage and determine liability, compensability and damages.
• Effectively utilizes tools to evaluate claims. Determines need for, and requests authorization to engage, independent adjusters, cause and origin experts and independent medical examiners.
• Ensures adequacy of reserves.
• Presents cases to senior leadership for reserves and evaluation authority as required by preset value ranges.
• Accountable for security of financial processing of claims, as well as security information contained in claims files.
• Handle the claim file through various phases of litigation. Develop a litigation strategy and action plan after thoroughly reviewing the initial complaint and any amended actions. Review the applicability of coverage and civil law as well as local statutes. Recognize coverage issues and what policy language and facts should be considered. Attend mandatory and court ordered litigation events.
• Communicates with various parties associated with the claim. Respond to written and verbal inquiries in a timely and professional manner, ensuring compliance within all company and statutory guidelines.
• Prepare detailed and comprehensive initial reports and follow up reports with concise and effective action plans designed to move the claim towards resolution.
• Identifies potential suspicious claims and refers to the Special Investigation Unit and identifies opportunities for third party subrogation.
• Accountable for security of financial processing of claims, as well as security of information contained in claims files. Negotiates settlements with attorneys, claimants, and/or codefendants.
• May be involved in special projects and/or mentor and train others.

Qualifications

• Strong written and oral communications skills required, along with, strong negotiation, interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and investigative skills required.
• Strong customer service experience preferred.
• Demonstrated competency of legal liability, general insurance policy coverage and State Tort Law.
• Bachelor`s degree preferred or equivalent work experience required. Preference for a minimum of 5 years of Bodily Injury/Casualty claims handling experience with litigation experience required.
• Must maintain all applicable licenses.
