The Assistant Accountant will join and provide support to, the Australia and New Zealand Business & Finance Services team. This role will provide an opportunity for growth and development within the finance team and interact with key stakeholders across the broader business.
OTC – Technical Support Associate
Maintain Accounts Receivables ledger:
Ensure timely allocation of receivables from customers.
Follow up unpaid and/or disputed amounts with customers.
Ensure automated calculation for doubtful debt provision is aligned with aged receivables items.
Release Debit/Credit notes timely.
Master Data Maintenance:
Creation / amendment of Customer Records.
Timely review of Customer Credit Limits.
Master Price maintenance, including pricing conditions
Work closely and collaboratively with Regional Master Data team to ensure timely update of Material Items master
Timely upload of Standard Cost
GS1 maintenance
Ensure review of OTC control reports are performed as per agreed frequency.
Fleet Administrator:
Monitor and manage the outsourcing relationship with the third party provider (Leaseplan) including supplier performance
Coordinate annual FBT process in conjunction with the Tax COE
General Accounting:
Support the accountant with the timely closure of month end reporting including, but not limited to, assisting with journal entries, reconciliations etc.
Support the business and Country Controller team with all audits (internal/external) and provide information/documents to ensure the timely close out of requested items.
Work collaboratively with Corporate Treasury and banks to maintain up to date banking documentation; e.g. banking signatories.
Support and coordinate intercompany calculations and processing
Manage the annual standard cost update process in conjunction with global teams
Lead fixed asset processes and reporting
Lead open bank item clearing process
Be the primary Invoice to Pay (ITP) support for BMSA
Other Reporting
Ensure reporting in compliance with Small Business Payment Time reporting (SBPT reporting)
Completion of Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) surveys
Inventory provision reporting (including leading quarterly review meetings)
Track and report samples as per SOP
Analyze profitability and recommend transfer pricing adjustments
Governance:
Ensure all processes and transactions under self-responsibility are performed in compliance with applicable Corporate and Local policies and procedures.
Escalate promptly to manager any potential non-compliant matters.
Create and maintain Work Instructions for critical activities to ensure seamless processes and to be used as training references.
Others
Act as back-up to team members to ensure delivery of finance commitments to stakeholders and the business
Lead projects that are directly related to areas under responsibility, e.g. Fleet, Corporate Card
Participate in other Finance projects as required
Raise purchase orders as required for ancillary entities

Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Part or full professional qualifications (CPA, CIMA, CA or equivalent) preferred but not essential.
Minimum 2-3 years experience in a finance organization
Ability to manage various activities simultaneously and to prioritize tasks in accordance with their impact on stated objectives.
Understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Understanding of shared services model and be customer focus.
Ability to resolve issues in a timely manner to ensure aims and objectives of BFS are achieved.
Be pro-active, self-starter and have an innovative thought process.
Eager to learn and grow.
Strong analytical skills.
Good knowledge of information systems and technology. SAP knowledge preferred
Independent use of SAP, Microsoft Suite, Tax Stream, SAP Business Intelligence / Warehouse, ART, JET, Hyperion, Treasury Account Management System (TAMS), Concur
