The Position:

MindRise is hiring highly-engaging, 100% remote, math & reading tutors for middle and high school students. You pick the consistent schedule that works best for you. We offer 5-35 hours of tutoring per week, depending on our current programs and your availability.

By becoming a MindRise tutor, you will be making a substantial impact in the world by giving at-risk students the academic skills and confidence they need for success in school and in life.

Responsibilities:

• Be present and on time to all scheduled sessions

• Enthusiastically engage and excite students

• Effectively teach lessons using our provided curriculum

• Give academic and effort grades throughout sessions

Qualifications (1-6 are required)

• 1) Reside in Texas, Florida, Georgia, or Virginia (Note: All MindRise students reside in Texas)

• 2) Bachelor’s degree

• 3) TONS of enthusiasm and positive energy!

• 4) Solid subject knowledge

• 5) Clear background check through IdentoGo (required by law for Texas students)

• 6) Be available for consistent daily time slot(s) Mon-Fri for at least 3 consecutive school-time hours (Example 1 = Mon-Fri 8am-2pm / Example 2 = Mon-Fri 8am-11am & 12pm-4pm) [Note: Your availability does not guarantee you will be scheduled all of those hours]

• 7) Preferred – At least 1 year teaching OR tutoring experience

Tech Requirements (you must have one of the following):

• PC, Mac, or Chromebook with touchscreen and at least 1.5 Ghz CPU and at least 4 RAM and a stylus

OR

• PC or Mac and a connected compatible writing tablet and at least 1.5 Ghz CPU and at least 4 RAM and a stylus

Benefits of tutoring with MindRise:

• Compensation is $15/hour with an increase of up to $17/hour for excellent attendance (A competitive base rate for daytime tutoring hours and bonuses are awesome!)

• We hire you as an employee – not a contract worker – which means we pay 1/2 of your payroll taxes (Many other companies hire tutors as contractors, meaning you pay 100% of your payroll taxes)

• Fully remote (More convenient, more comfy, allows for more down time, eliminates drive time & wear/tear on your car, saves money, etc)

• Pick your own consistent schedule (Pick the daily time periods that work best for you)

• Daytime schedules > We give you consistent schedules mostly between 7:30 and 4:30 according to our current programs and your availability (Many other companies only have after school and weekend hours)

• We supply you with students and have curriculum on our platform (Many other companies require that you find your own students and create your own curriculum)

• Our platform is highly engaging with interactive components, an online whiteboard, and live video feed (Many other companies only have a static platform with no way for you and the students to see each other)

• We provide up front training and offer support throughout our programs (With many other companies, you’re completely on your own)
