Salary: Grade 7 £31411 – £35,333 per annum

Contract: Permanent 100% FTE Full time

Main Purpose of the Post

We are looking to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant to support the financial management team in central finance in meeting key business deadlines and providing comprehensive financial information and advice. The successful candidate must ensure delivery of excellent customer service and ensure financial controls are maintained.

Reporting to the Assistant Finance Business Partner, the post holder will be responsible for specific areas of activity within the monthly and annual financial reporting and budgeting cycles. They will build effective working relationships with members of the management accounting team to ensure success in meeting deadlines and providing timely information.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent
• Professional accounting qualification through one of the accounting bodies e.g., ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA or part qualified (A part qualified appointee will be offered support to complete their qualification through the finance department’s training programme.)

Experience

• Significant experience of working within a complex financial environment
• Experience of financial coding structures and financial processes
• Significant experience of working within the principles of confidentiality and data protection/security that is relevant to this role
• A demonstrable commitment to their own Continual Professional Development (CPD)

Knowledge and Skills

• Evidence of excellent practical application in the use of Microsoft Excel, together with other Microsoft applications.
• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, to be pro-active, working to strict deadlines in order to meet strict demands.
• Successfully deliver against competing priorities and deadlines
• Evidence of high level of interpersonal skills, discretion, sensitivity, and personal initiative with excellent attention to detail
