Job description:
The purpose of the role and your unique contribution is to support the key financial deliverables for the various portfolios and consolidated requirements of the Direct Insurance Australia (DIA). Division view for internal and external stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the delivery of consistent, insightful and timely reporting to the DIA Group Executive (and their EGM Leadership team) that supports effective decision making.
Support the provision of internal and external reporting requirements of the DIA Division including Executive reporting (i.e. commentary for Investor report, Monthly/Quarterly Performance Reporting, Board reporting, Balanced Scorecard Reporting inputs)
Support the delivery of the Division’s monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly financial performance reporting processes
Contribute to the consolidation of all the portfolio analysis and commentary to provide the total DIA Division view for all stakeholders including consolidated reporting requirements for the Enterprise Finance (for expenses) and Group Finance.
Support the provision of strategic financial support and advice for initiatives within Direct Product, Pricing & Governance Businesses and Direct Customer Experience, including scenario modelling, financial target setting (both short term and long term), ad hoc business partnering support, business case preparation (non-Investment Slate) and targeted financial analysis
Support the improvement of financial governance, reporting and accurate forecasting for DIA Division by identifying financial risks
Collaborate with Enterprise Finance to develop consolidated expense reporting for the DIA Division. This will be done in accordance with the TE timetable, process and guidelines provided by the Enterprise Finance Business Performance team
Skills & Experience
Financial Services expertise required, preferably within Insurance
Experience in finance and accounting including financial management/reporting, technical accounting knowledge, and business commerciality
Understanding of business and financial impacts of operational decisions
Knowledge of finance reporting systems and frameworks
Attention to detail and ability to multitask, adhere to deadlines and perform under pressure
Experience operating and delivering results in a matrix environment and leveraging relationships to influence and drive outcomes
Tertiary qualifications, i.e. Postgraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
CA/CPA/CIMA qualified (or on path to completion)
Relevant professional membership and certifications
Qualified LEAN Practitioner or willingness to work towards qualification
