Assystem is an International Engineering Consultancy with significant growth plans within our Energy and Infrastructure business here in the UK. Our Defence Infrastructure business are strategic partners to the MOD delivering significant infrastructure programmes across several defence critical sites, including some of Europe’s largest marine bases.
Role Summary
Assystem are looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team on an exciting project based in Scotland.
The Electrical Engineer will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team within the Approval Authority. The primary purpose of the role is to directly support current operations and future programmes using a combination of general & specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology.
The team consists of Mechanical, Civil, Building Services or Electrical Engineers and are responsible for the authorship, development, assessment, and maintenance of Engineering Design Substantiation.
Experience:
Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent experience
Experienced LV Electrical Engineer with previous knowledge of power distribution working ideallywithin a similar highly regulated/ high hazard industry sector such as defence.
Experience of using electrical design software e.g. Trimble
Ideally Proven experience of producing technical justification in line with Safety Cases.
Experience applying appropriate theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate, maintain, decommission and re-cycle engineering processes, systems, services, and products ideally in a high risk environment
Experience of working with the supply chain
Experience producing and reviewing contractual engineering documentation e.g. statement of requirements, scope of works, basis of design, specifications and commissioning.
A good understanding of British and international design standards.
Proven experience of making intelligent evidence-based decisions using various sources of data.
Good skills in verbal and written communication.
The ability to effectively manage and prioritise workload.
Discharge and display a robust safety and security culture.
Application of the above on a brownfield modifications project
Desirable:
Ideal candidates would already have experience within a Marine based environment
