Senior Quality Assurance/Support Engineer
This position entails performing quality assurance of all web-based applications and APIs released by the UCF technology team. Additionally, this position will provide Level 3 support of all products and integrations in the production environment.

Position Summary

The UCF technology team is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance/Support Engineer to help expand and maintain our patented product offerings. We are dedicated to dramatically simplifying the process of regulatory compliance through robust products and APIs.

The successful candidate will have a strong quality assurance background and a proven history in delivering top-notch quality products. This position also requires significant test experience of web-based applications and RESTful APIs with a solid understanding of web interfaces, relational databases, websites, cloud services, contact management, payment processing, natural language processing, and more. Good fundamentals in problem solving is also a critical attribute of this position. We maintain a flat structure of technically-proficient personnel with an entirely remote workforce. We will supply all the technology necessary to work from home. This position is an individual contributor and reports directly to the CTO.

Responsibilities

• Generate test cases based on the documented requirements for a new feature/release
• Perform functional testing by executing the test cases generated and tracking the status of each. Test on a variety of devices including desktop, table, and mobile
• Generate bug reports in JIRA while documenting the exact steps to reproduce each issue
• Perform regression testing to ensure no breakage and prior features are performing as expected
• Test integrations and platform plugins/templates that have been developed in Bubble
• Test integrations that have been built into ServiceNow and SalesForce
• Write automated tests for new and existing code to ensure compatibility and stability
• Provide estimates of time to complete a set of test cases for a given sprint and/or release
• Perform load testing and other non-functional tests to ensure the products are performing as expected under load
• Setup data as needed in the test database(s) in preparation for testing a specific sprint or release
• Support existing customers as well as onboarding new customers
• Manage customer support tickets and prioritize them accordingly
• Create and publish a set of FAQs by product for common issues
• Support internal products

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the US, pass a background check and no B2B contracts
• 5+ years experience performing quality assurance on web-based applications & REST APIs
• 5+ years experience testing across all major browsers and a variety of devices including desktop, tablet and mobile (for responsiveness)
• 5+ years experience generating test cases based on written requirements
• Strong understanding of test case automation and utilizing test automation tools for regression testing
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Experience using Postman (or similar) to test and verify REST APIs
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management (GIT), build processes (Beanstalk/Kubernetes/Jenkins), and related testing
• Proficient with Linux server environments and querying relational databases (mysql, postgres)
• Comfortable with the Agile and Lean development process
• Entrepreneurial spirit and focus on delivering value into customers hands
• Focus on data-driven decision making and learning by experimentation
• Ability to contribute anywhere in the stack and wear multiple hats
• Self-starter, self-motivated, and willing to work on complex challenges
• Able to write and speak clearly about complex systems and issues for both technical and layman audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Passion for technology and quality assurance!
• Understanding of front-end web development experience a big plus (HTML/CSS/JS)
• Hands on experience querying MySQL/PostgreSQL
• Understanding of Natural Language Processing a plus
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) – Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, Elasticache (redis), EC2, etc
• Docker container experience a plus
