Position Summary
The International Business Program is an interdisciplinary program
combining business, foreign languages and cultural knowledge.
Housed in the College of Arts and Letters, International Business
is the college’s largest major and one of the largest majors at
SDSU. It currently has about 500 students and is the only
nationally ranked undergraduate program in the CSU; the program
currently ranks 8th in the nation. The staff consists of a Program
Director, a Study Abroad Coordinator, an Academic Advisor, an
Internship/Career Coordinator, and an Administrative Support
Coordinator.
This position has direct office lead responsibilities and provides
administrative support for the director. The administrative
coordinator’s work is supervised by the director and is carried out
within the policies set by the university, the program, and the
director.
Responsibilities include event planning and oversight of budgetary
and fiscal matters including ordering supplies and purchasing
computer equipment, making travel arrangements and processing
travel documents, assisting with preparation for course scheduling,
interpreting academic and administrative regulations and policies,
gathering data, preparing reports, assisting committees, hiring,
and supervising student employees, establishing and maintaining
departmental files and records, planning and executing the IB
scholarship application and award process and the Program’s annual
Case Competition. Some evening and weekend work may be required
(attendance at events).

Full-time, permanent (probationary) position. This position is
designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime
compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.
to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
This position is physically located at the SDSU Main Campus in San
Diego.
Education and Experience
Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge
of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well
as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of
organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to
have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and
punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in
writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business
mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly
learn new office support technology systems and software packages
is also a prerequisite.
These qualifications would normally be obtained through a high
school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents
combined with several years of related office work
experience.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and
qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal
equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed
$3,276 per month.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,276- $5,148 per month.
SDSU Vaccine Policy
In accordance with the California State University systemwide
policy, students, faculty, and staff must be fully vaccinated
against COVID-19 or provide a valid medical or religious exemption
in order to access campus. Individuals are considered fully
vaccinated for five months after their final dose of a two-dose
COVID-19 vaccine or for two months after receiving the only dose of
a single-dose vaccine. Afterward a COVID-19 booster is required to
continue to be considered fully vaccinated.
The individual hired into this role will be required to submit
their completed vaccination documentation to the university’s
secure online health portal prior to beginning work. Individuals
with an approved medical or religious exemption on file with the
university will be required to participate in SDSU’s COVID-19
testing program.

The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated
