KD Analytical, a subsidiary of Noble, was founded in 2003 to provide high quality customized training/support to the emerging Military First Responder and the Homeland Defense Community. The staff has over 75 years of combined experience training, supporting and serving the military first responder program and 200 years combined experience supporting and running high-end analytical equipment. The staff is dedicated to supporting, training and innovating existing and emerging technologies in the Homeland Defense community, Environmental Investigations and direct-to-consumer applications.

Position Summary:
The Software Engineer position encompasses design, development, and support of existing and new commercial enterprise applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business unit to define requirements and how they translate in application features, sprints, and release plans
• Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set/follow specifications for new features/functions
• Design creative prototypes according to specifications
• Write high quality source code to complete program development within deadlines
• Perform unit and integration testing before launch
• Conduct functional and non-functional testing, including development and maintenance of application test plans
• Design application enhancements / projects to comply with NIST and other development standards
• Troubleshoot and debug application
• Lead small to mid-size application development projects following standard project life cycle
• Follow application change management and promotion policies
• Collaborate / participate in peer project / code walkthroughs
• Evaluate existing application to reprogram, update and add new features
• Develop technical documents and materials to accurately represent application design and code
• Participate in annual disaster recovery planning and testing
• Collaborate with third party service providers supporting core infrastructure

Competencies: Education and/or Experience

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• 2-4 years AGILE life cycles for engineering/development (Scrum, Kanban) or related methods
• 2-4 years Microsoft IIS experience
• 2-4 years Microsoft SQL experience
• 2-4 years Web Frontend (HTML, CSS, Javascript) development experience
• 2-4 years .NET (C#, ASPX) development experience
• 2-4 years Git/Github or other source control experience

Preferred:

• 2-4 years Java development experience, preferred
• NIST compliance understanding, preferred
• ITIL foundations understanding, preferred
• Microsoft Azure DevOps
• English language proficiency
• Public Speaking
• US Citizen
• Business Hours availability between 8am – 5pm (ET)
• Occasional driving near the Washington DC area (MD, VA)

Pay: $70,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
