The Clinical Consultant/Educator will work within an innovative team of clinicians and Melbourne University academics who contribute their skills and knowledge to service the workforce development and research translation initiatives of Orygen.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Workforce Development you will:

• Provide advice and consultation to mental health practitioners and GPs through the mental health advice line and doctors in schools advice line.
• Contribute to project activities, developing resources to support internal and external workforce capacity building, regarding youth and family participation and issues of youth mental health.
• Deliver evidence-based training using Cert IV courses to various youth mental health services/organisations, secondary schools and networks.
• Be a leader to influence decision making processes, such as quality and continuous improvement and organisational planning and reporting.

What you’ll need

You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to the mental health outcomes of young people.

In addition, you bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in clinical psychology, occupational therapy, mental health nursing or social work. Full registration with AHPRA or AASW and equivalent Certificate IV in Training or willingness to undertake this course.
• An advanced level of skill in youth mental health clinical practice, including assessment, case formulation and intervention across a range of diagnostic categories.
• Experience in providing secondary consultation to mental health practitioners.
• Experience in training/teaching/supervising activities for the youth mental health workforce.

This is a full or part time (0.8-1.0 FTE) contract for 12-months.
