Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Sunderland
Duration: Permanent Staff

Today, our Energy Transition team are working on the first generation of commercial fusion power plants, developing new Hydrogen technology to displace carbon-based fuels, and supporting the deployment of large-scale renewable power onto the grid.
Our Energy Transition team is expanding its diverse, creative and highly skilled team to develop the technical solutions that will make net zero a reality. Previous experience in a technical role in the fusion, hydrogen or renewables industry is highly desirable, however, transferable skills from related industries such as civil/ defence nuclear, oil and gas, and other safety critical industries, is valued.

Assystem operates a flexible home and office working policy, with some travel to customer and other Assystem sites.

Your background:
Ideally you will have:-
2:1 BEng qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Relevant engineering experience in a technical role.

Chartered Engineer
Experience in Hydrogen project

FEED project experience

Experience in engineering consultancy

Experience of current EU regulations e.g. PED, CDM, Machinery Directive

Draughting software – AutoCad, Inventor, MathCAD, NavisWork

Security:
Due to the nature of work to be undertaken, applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance, if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
