Accountabilities

• Ownership of the Regional numbers for US, Canada, Mexico, including all postings to the accounting system and all AMER specific reporting.
• Own the month end process for AMER business region.
• Responsibility for delivering an accurate full P&L and balance sheet for AMER in line with group reporting deadlines.
• Production of regional P&L first draft, ensuring detailed understanding of month on month and year on year trends, significant items, one off transactions etc, including commentary.
• Preparation of month end journals for cost accruals and prepayments, and revenue and cost of sales adjustments.
• Ensure significant partnership contracts are understood and accounted for correctly, with income and costs booked in the appropriate periods.
• Responsible for liaising with local tax advisors to ensure compliance with local requirements.
• Assisting with year-end audit queries from the group auditors in UK.
• Assisting with the implementation of group projects in AMER region, for eg, Sarbanes Oxley compliance and IFRS conversion.
• Line management of the AMER Accounts Assistant.
• Day to day finance contact for the Regional Operations and Sales teams.
• Ensure costs related to the AMER region are captured and owned, liaising with other regional accountants to ensure appropriate allocations of contested or shared costs.
• Contribute submissions for the AMER region into the Group wide FP&A processes.
• Assist the central Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams with customer and supplier queries specific to the AMER region.

Person Profile

The key skills & experience the role holder requires;

• Qualified accountant (2+ years PQE)
• Experience of leading or contributing significantly to a month end close process for either a company or business unit (with its own P&L)
• Advanced Excel knowledge
• Excellent leadership and organisational skills
• Knowledge of accounting, financial analysis and data analysis
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills
• Experience in managing junior colleagues
• A team player with positive mindset
• Has a proactive approach and a problem-solving nature, likes to see things through to completion
• Attention to detail, desire for things to be done right first time, pride in work
• Not scared of a fast moving, demanding, ever-moving culture and business environment
• Happy to help out colleagues with other areas of work as and when required, expect to need to adapt to changes at some point
• Wants to be part of the “EposNow Culture”, and join a fast paced, rapidly growing business with big plans and big ambitions
• Owner managed business, or small business experience preferred
