The Opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for a Trust and Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Accounts Payable and Trust Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the trust accounting function of the firm with core duties including:

• Compliance with Law Society trust account requirements
• Maintenance of trust accounts
• Processing all trust account transactions, including receipts, payments, journals, bill posting and disbursements
• Preparing electronic payments and trust cheques
• Reconciliation of trust accounts on a daily basis
• Reconciliation and preparation of month end reports; and
• General back-up and assistance for the accounts payable function.

We anticipate this role would suit an account professional from a legal or professional services background, with strong accounts experience including payables, receivables and reconciliations.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Minimum three years’ experience working in a finance team
• Legal or professional services background preferred but not essential
• Aderant and/or Elite 3e experience preferred but not essential
• An understanding of trust accounting rules and legislative requirements is essential
• A customer centric and service orientated mind set
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; and
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
