KPMG Hiring for Accounting Manager Job at Wollongong Full Time

Our business has doubled in the last year and outgrown our current team structure. We have grown the team capacity but are looking for a capable leader to oversee and run the team reporting into a Partner. The successful candidate would be responsible for the accounting compliance of number of infrastructure funds and for providing support and sharing knowledge across other team members including CFOA Advisory, Corporate secretarial, Tax specialists and the broader team.

You will be the central point of contact on your Funds, managing relationships with other stakeholders including tax agents, auditors and corporate secretarial providers. You will lead the team and assist to prioritise tasks, respond to ad hoc requests and deliver technical excellence within deadlines.

Key skill sets would be:

• Effectively oversee and manage the administration and accounting functions of the Infrastructure funds, including:
  • Drawdowns & distributions
  • General investor distribution calculations
  • Booking investment and intercompany transactions
  • Attending board meetings with key stakeholders and preparing minutes
  • Assisting with the preparation of the quarterly Investor Reports and Statements sourcing
  • Business Activity Statement (BAS) preparation and lodgement

• Explain the impact of accounting issues and key processes to clients
• Ability to identify requirements for specialist advice (accounting or taxation) and liaison with technical expertiese as required.
• Ensure all accounting, taxation, compliance and regulatory reporting requirements of the Fund & investors are delivered on time & accurately
• Review the preparation of the Funds annual statutory financial statements to ensure they are accurate and prepared in accordance with applicable accounting standards
• Strong management and relationship skills
• Liaise with external tax advisors and external auditor
• Ensure complete understanding and adherence to regulatory requirements for all Funds
• Ensure compliance with the KPMG’s policies and procedures
• Contribute to the scoping, designing and developing of efficiencies and improvements

Knowledge and experience

• Bachelor’s in Commerce, Business, Finance or Accounting
• CA or CPA qualified
• Strong team player with stakeholder management skills
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Planning skills with strong outcomes focus
• Project management skills and ability to work on multiple projects while adhering to strict deadlines
• High level of business acumen and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
• Ability to work autonomously within a team environment
• Accounting experience, robust technical skills in financial reporting
• Prior exposure to Infrastructure transactions and structures is preferred
