Cherry Hospital is recruiting for an Education Director who will be responsible for the day-to-day functions of the continuing medical education program that is accredited through the North Carolina Medical Society and the graduate medical education program for resident physicians, fellows, and medical students.

This position works with management, department heads, and hospital committees when assessing training needs of the Medical Staff and other clinical disciplines. Position develops and implements educational programs to address educational needs. This position also assesses the effectiveness of educational activities and modifies educational techniques as necessary to improve patient outcomes through staff educational experiences. This position establishes relationships and affiliations with colleges and universities to enhance existing training programs. Position will oversee and manage a budget.

Cherry Hospital (CH) is a State-of-the-Art psychiatric hospital located in a beautiful rural area of Goldsboro, NC. Although rural, Cherry Hospital is convenient to the Triangle Area (Raleigh/Durham) and the coastal region of the state. It is about an hour’s drive to the heart of Raleigh or the beautiful coastal town of New Bern.

Considerable knowledge of education programs and staff development theory, principles, and techniques and exercising judgment in assessing training needs, recommending training goals and evaluating student learning.

Knowledge of technology used for the development of training materials and implementation of educational objectives for a wide range of audiences and situations.

Ability to interpret, apply and communicate a variety of policies, procedures, regulations and guidelines.

Knowledge of integration of clinical observations and knowledge of healthcare gaps for the purpose of developing Continuing Education (CE), Continuing Medical Education (CME), and other clinically relevant trainings.

Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.
