Pay Range: $85,000+ DOE
Position Summary:
As the Dean of Student Affairs, you’ll support Bryan University’s mission to help our students liberate their innate greatness by providing ongoing support, addressing student behavior, and coordinating admissions and new student orientation. We are looking for an individual who has demonstrated expertise in best practices in student services/affairs, and who has designed and leveraged coaching methodologies which had a measurable impact on the development needs of at-risk working adults in an online learning environment. The Dean of Student Affairs is specifically responsible for overseeing Student Affairs which includes, but is not limited to, Success Coaching, Reentry, Registrar functions and ensuring a quality experience for the student from pre-enrollment through graduation.
Responsibilities of the Dean of Student Affairs:
Develop, implement, evaluate, and continuously improve university-wide programs and services related to Student Affairs with a special emphasis on student success and retention
Oversee the selection, supervision, development, and retention of student affairs staff
Work with student groups and relevant offices to enhance and improve their impact and understanding of student development at the university
Work to establish a student affairs culture that encourages diversity and students’ learning to respect and appreciate inclusivity and difference
Coordinate with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness to administer, analyze and recommend changes based on student opinion and feedback
Discretely manage confidential student and organizational information
Establishes and implements short- and long-range department goals, objectives, policies, budgets, and operating procedures
Acts as liaison between student departments and institution administrators
Develops and implements department working procedures, budgets, policies, and goals.
Assesses student body needs and responds to any questions or concerns from the student body in an effective and timely manner
Handles emergency and crisis situations that pertain to students
Recommends and participates in the development of university policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned by the VP of Academic Affairs
Requirements of the Dean of Student Affairs:
Master’s degree with at least be 5-7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; Advanced degree preferred
At least 5 years of student affairs leadership experience
Prior experience with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Accessibility Services
Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering best practices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, support the University’s strategic plan, and build an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity through promoting an environment where all can succeed
Demonstrated expertise in best practices in student services and affairs, and development needs of at-risk working adults in an online environment
Use persistent and targeted metrics to continuously improve processes and procedures
