Deepwater Hiring for Assistant Accountant Job at Perth Full Time

Deepwater, part of Acteon Group, protect our clients’ assets from corrosion. We solve corrosion problems and improve anti-corrosion technology to reduce maintenance costs and preserve the integrity of infrastructure.

Deepwater are currently looking to add an Assistant Accountant to their busy and expanding team on a full time, permanent basis. Based in Perth, WA the Assistant Accountant will primarily assist the Finance Manager, focus on the Accounts Receivable function and managing cash collections, as well as the day to day transactions for the business. The Assistant Accountant will also be responsible for running the month end transactional process and the preparation of initial reports for review.

Duties:

• Manage existing and new Customer Accounts and registrations
• Process monthly payroll ensuring all payment compliance is completed
• Preparation of invoicing as advised by Project Manager for review and once approved; follow all necessary client approval processes for invoice lodgements
• Review Accounts Receivable debts and follow up on a weekly basis, provide commentary for management, assist with the preparation of the weekly cashflow
• Prepare the company General Ledger, and post accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other standard journals as applicable to for the monthly reporting cycle and enter once approved
• Day to day management of databases, inventory and invoices
• Support in the preparation for Auditing throughout the year
• Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations for monthly review with CFO and Finance Manager
• Prepare Initial project P&L’s, review with project manager and provide commentary on variances actuals v forecast
• Preparation of BAS Returns and monthly IAS Returns

Requirements:

• Degree educated in Accounting or an equivalent finance degree is essential
• Working towards or Qualified CA, CPA or equivalent is desired
• 3-5 years’ experience in the industry working in the same or a similar role and experience with project accounting
• Fluent in English, in both written and verbal forms with highly effective inter-personal skills supported by good attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and proactively with a strong sense of personal accountability and self-motivation as well as collaboratively within a team
• Creative and adaptable in the ability to manage new challenges
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple, complex and fast-track priorities with a proactive and positive attitude
• Works closely with others to maximise team achievements and effectiveness through developing relationships and continuous sharing of knowledge and ideas
