Alaska Mountaineering and Hiking Hiring for Sales Representative at Anchorage, Alaska Full Time

We have a team mentality and believe in using people’s strengths to direct their roles here at the shop. Many of us have different levels of experience in many of the categories we sell. We work together to provide the most information and help to our customers. Our staff are all outdoor enthusiasts and we work a fluid schedule to accommodate for people taking trips and working towards objectives. During the winter season, our largest sales are in Nordic Ski and Alpine Touring. We are looking for someone with knowledge in at least one of these areas. If you have been a racer (high school or college), coach, or active recreator in the nordic world your experience is a great asset. We also run everyone through training so they can competently sell skis, fit skis to racers and recreators, and work one on one with folks to find them the best set-up for them. 

Alpine Touring and downhill skiing knowledge is also a big plus to have here during the winter months.  It is good to be familiar with the different systems, have an overall understanding of how basic bindings and backcountry travel works and the willingness to learn more!

We have some opportunities for folks to learn how to make custom footbeds and become Master Boot Fitters.
