About the team

Transport Shared Services (TSS) partners with other teams of Corporate Services to provide tools, processes and systems that enable the Transport Cluster to operate effectively. We aim to make our services relevant and easy to use, to make our processes seamless and fully digital. We apply innovation and technology to provide insight data analytics to enable clients to be ahead of the curve. Our services cover a broad range from Finance to Procurement, from People to Workplace Services.

The opportunity

Right now we have an exciting 12 months fixed term opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to play a critical role supporting the client agencies and divisions in financial performance of projects, cost centres and functional business areas including variance analysis, forecast and a range of month end activities to assist the team to deliver business objectives.

Key aspects of this role will include;

Ensure accuracy and completeness of high value intercompany billing activities including valid intercompany sale contracts, purchase orders and timely reconciliation.

Assist with the review and compilation of monthly, mid and year end related financial reports by supporting financial forecasting, balance sheet reconciliations, investigation and analysis of variances against planned budgeted targets and preparation of budgets.

Provide accurate and timely month end financial journals and master data compliance with policies and statutory requirements including accounting standards, providing support to the section to ensure that internal and external reporting requirements are satisfied.

About you

A proven track record in delivering month end financial activities in a large and complex operating environment with previous SAP experience will be essential in addition to appropriate formal qualifications.

Key to the success of this role will be building strong working relationships and collaborate with various teams to provide fit for purpose and sustainable solutions to enable the clients to achieve their business outcomes for Transport.

Salary and Benefits

Transport Grade 6 role ($97,279 – $ 95,984) + super plus annual leave loading
