We are looking to appoint a dynamic, qualified accounting technician or part qualified accountant, ideally with some experience and knowledge of treasury management and/or pension fund accounting, to join the Treasury and Investments team. This is a great opportunity to work in a busy and experienced team.
We are seeking applications from Dorset Council existing staff and external candidates by close 18 September 2022.
As an Accountant you will provide support and advice ensuring sound financial management, governance and value for money from the service. You will report to the Senior Accountant – Treasury and Investments and will work closely with colleagues, investment managers, actuaries, external advisers and others to ensure effective relationships that deliver value for money for Dorset Council and the pension fund’s many stakeholders.
You will have full membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians (or equivalent) and be an effective team player who is good at building relationships with colleagues and outside bodies. You will have a strong track record of development and you will be a motivated and ambitious individual.

This post requires travel. You must have a vehicle (or transport we deem suitable) available for use as needed.
Positions are based in Dorchester with the option to work from home for some of your time. Attendance at the offices in Dorchester is essential for induction and training though, and a regular commitment to attending the office for team events and customer support will also be an integral part of the role.
