About the role

This is a key role in the delivery of high quality Statutory reporting for the UK operating companies. Your main duties will also include the provision of quality supporting information to facilitate an effective statutory audit process

• Responsible for the preparation of semi-annual group financial reporting packages and annual statutory accounts, as well as other external reporting matters required by legislation, listing rules, licences and external regulatory bodies.
• Responsible in assisting with the financial close process, ensuring that high quality, timely and consistent reporting is produced on a month-to-month basis.
• Key member of the UK Financial Reporting team, providing expert accounting advice to all parts of the UK business to ensure compliance and maximum value for National Grid. You will play a part in implementing new accounting standards, ensuring accounting policies are complied with, and executing financial controls.
• You will provide analytical review of income statement, balance sheet and cashflow results on a monthly basis.

About you

Suitable applicants will be qualified accountants with relevant professional experience, expertise in IFRS, and the ability to demonstrate the following:

• Experience in transaction and close process monitoring, as well as suggesting relevant process improvements
• Proactive attitude to identifying and tackling issues
• Ability to work within a team to execute end to end financial reporting processes
• Ability to communicate confidently and effectively, at all levels, in both verbal and written form
• A focus on performance excellence and continuous improvement
• Confidence in stakeholder management and working across teams
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to deliver multiple objectives simultaneously
• Experience of SAP S4 HANA and BPC ICON systems would be an advantage.

What we can offer you

A competitive salary of circa £47,000 per annum – dependent on capability and experience.

As part of our hybrid and flexible working approach permanent role offers a mix of office working in our Warwick office and home working. We can also offer some flexibility in terms of hours/times.
