Job Duties

This position constitutes permitting, educating, and inspecting tobacco and e-cigarette retailers within our 5-county district. Travel within our 5-county jurisdiction will be required. All travel will be done on the clock with a fleet of vehicles at your disposal to allow you to be successful in the position. Some of the additional job duties will include: assessing local health education needs using surveys and other assessment tools while developing comprehensive local health education plans based upon identified needs, coordinating prevention campaigns for residents by implementing awareness campaigns, media relations, and other social marketing plans, and evaluate the impact of health education programs by conducting process, impact, and outcome evaluation.

Work Schedule

Monday thru Thursday 7:30-5:30, Friday from 8-5 with every other Friday off

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from college with a bachelor’s degree in health education, health promotion, public health, or a related field

Must possess a driver’s license

Work Environment

May be required to stay at or return to work during public health incidents and/or emergencies to perform duties specific to this classification or to perform other duties as requested in an assigned response position. This may require working a non-traditional work schedule or working outside normally assigned duties during the incident and/or emergency.
