Overview:

Heritage Christian Services is looking for a detailed oriented, highly organized accounting professional to fill a Senior Accountant role. You will assist with monthly and annual close responsibilities for the organization. The Senior Accountant supports the delivery of accurate and timely reporting of financial results to management teams while promoting and supporting the mission, vision, and values of Heritage Christian Services, Inc.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Director of Accounting and Finance to ensure timely completion of monthly financial close and year-end financial statement audit.
  • Create monthly account journal entries as directed by the Director of Accounting and Finance.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
  • Work collaboratively with Director of Accounting and Finance to ensure financial results are prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Assist with preparing all other annual reporting requirements including CFR, cost reports and 990 filings.
  • Prepare sales tax filings.
  • Perform bookkeeping functions for the Foundation on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain financial reports in Management Reporter.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance or related experience.
  • Detail oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent Computer Skills including Excel, working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Great Plains preferred.
