About the role
This manager role, in our Data Lab, is for the AI in our digital journey. You will:
Develop a chatbot and voicebot for Belair and Intact to help achieve our digital self-serve objectives.
In collaboration with the Intact lab, develop a sales and underwriting digital advisor to provide the ability for clients to fully buy online and process transactions without a need to call.
What you’ll do here:
Manage a multidisciplinary team in designing, developing and applying Machine Learning models (pricing, telematics program, fraud, process automation, etc.);
Help build the industry’s best data science team by keeping our specialists motivated and engaged in an agile environment and helping them grow their careers;
Collaborate with partners across the company to develop our AI vision, identify and prioritize AI use cases and implement solutions.
Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
Minimum of five years’ professional experience in an analytical and innovative environment, including at least two years in management or coaching;
Data science enthusiast with a background in a related field, including (but not limited to): Machine learning, Computer science, Software engineering, Physics, Actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics
Understanding of underlying Machine Learning theory and the Predictive Modeling Lifecycle;
Previous experience in insurance or finance is an asset
Strong communication, time management and work organization skills.

Right now, we support 100% remote work, if your role permits. Once it’s safe to do so, we will move to a hybrid approach which will give everyone the best of both worlds – a mix of home and in-office workdays. Schedules will be determined in partnership between individuals, managers, and the team.
