Storylines Hiring for Financial Analyst – Cruise Industry Job at Remote Full Time

This cruise Industry focused Financial Analyst position plays a major role in Storylines’ success and the successful candidate will use their technical and analytical skills to support operational executives in making crucial business decisions.

In addition to formulating, monitoring, and analyzing recommendations for General and Administrative costs (“G&A”), Cashflow and forecasting, Project feasibility and profit modeling, Compensation & Benefits, including managing worldwide headcount allocations, this function is accountable for reporting and analyzing financial deviations of ongoing operations.

The work is centred around the cruise industry and knowledge of vessels and operational aspects. This person is driven to push the boundaries of their professional abilities, has a great capacity for problem solving in the face of uncertainty, and easily and quickly adapts to changes.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Answer directly to the CFO

• Be the project leader for conducting intricate financial analysis and conveying learned information to all levels of management in a clear and intelligible manner, frequently in interesting, well-organized executive

• Be the primary source of funding analysis for various operational groups in the timely planning, forecasting, and explanation of variances for both continuing operations and new initiatives.

• Independently and collectively, develop and enhance analytical tools to provide insights into business trends and pinpoint opportunities.

• For projects and ad hoc requests, it is necessary to extract and absorb data as well as organize the flow of information.

• Improve yourself constantly, foster a culture of cooperation, and uphold the highest ethical standards possible.

About you

• Cruise Industy: Deep knowledge of: Ship running costs, Operational costs, Shoreside costs, Itinerary costings & plannings.

• Cruise Industy: Knowledge of current ships, owners – and what they are doing now, including ships that are on the market or TBA

• Cruise Industy: Deep industry connections – spanning many years or decades.

• It is preferred to have a bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in accounting or finance from an approved institution or university, as well as one to three years of relevant experience in financial and business analysis.

• Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate well with staff at all operational levels.

• Advanced knowledge of best practice in accounting methods

• Reporting to and the ability to present information for stakeholders, investors and the like

• Strong PC abilities are needed.

• Strong preference for advanced Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Google workspace (Docs, Sheets etc).

• Google Data Studio is a plus but not mandatory.

• Mathematical modeling, as well as extensive exposure to operations research and statistics.

• Analysis of financial statements expertise. You must be able to think critically, solve problems, and carry out root cause analysis in ambiguous situations.

• Incredibly analytical, meticulous, and has a keen business sense.

• The capacity to create, coordinate, and carry out workable strategies across various initiatives.

• Be able to balance your workload, manage tight deadlines, and produce quality outcomes.

• Very high focus on the detail

• Evidence of process improvement driving factors
