Drakos and Company Solicitor have been operating for over 30 years with a strong and diverse customer base. We are based in West End and have a cemented and exceptional reputation in the area and industry.

Our lovely long term accounts officer has moved on to another line of work after 5 years with us. We therefore have an opportunity opening for a Bookkeeper/Accounts Officer to join the team!

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse and motivated team, and in close proximity with the business owners.

We are happy to flexible work hours depending on what circumstances require. We also have ability to allow some work from home once you’re settled in, but please be mindful the role does generally require daily attendance due to the needs of some activities.

Our business is centrally based, close to bus and train hubs so commuting is a breeze too.

As for the role itself, it will involve:

• Full function of accounts payable, receivable, and payroll
• Bank reconciliations
• Trust account reconciliation
• Journal preparation
• BAS, IAS, STP, Superannuation reporting
• Preparation of monthly financials
• End of year review and preparation of information for the external accountant
• Weekly Payroll
• Monday to Friday work times only.

You should therefore:

• have good experience in a similar role
• be experienced in both accounts receivable and accounts payable
• have experience working with Microsoft office suite, particularly excel and outlook
• be knowledgeable and experienced with MYOB software
• be interested in, and aptitude for, processes, procedures and attention to detail

• demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• enjoy working autonomously but be confident to engage with the team to help problem solve and suggest new solutions
• Be familiar with law firm Trust Accounting
• have a happy and positive attitude and be willing to help out where it is needed.

Salary: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year

• Certificate I – IV (Preferred)

Experience:

• Bookkeeping: 1 year (Preferred)
• MYOB: 1 year (Preferred)
• Trust Accounting: 1 year (Preferred)
