About CST at TfNSW

The Customer Strategy and Technology division (CST), leads the development of long-term, multi-modal strategies, plans and policies across NSW. We leverage data and insights, implement new technologies, drive innovation and build partnerships to provide customer-centred solutions.

Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) is a part of the Customer Strategy and Technology division of Transport for NSW. It is responsible for providing the smart infrastructure, real-time data and operational systems required to manage the transport network. Focussed primarily on delivering new capabilities through the application of advanced technology, we are a passionate group of technologists and delivery specialists intent on helping improve NSW through the delivery of our exciting Future Transport Technology roadmap. The Data Systems and Integration team in ITS has a busy portfolio of programs and projects aimed at delivering enterprise level big data solutions in Transport’s operational data space.

The opportunity

We have a new exciting opportunity for a Test Analyst, temporary full time role untill 30th June 2024 to join the Intelligent Transport Systems division within the Customer Strategy and Technology branch. The role will be responsible for documenting & executing test cases and managing test defects and capturing test results preferably having data domain background.

Your role will include

• Maintaining the integrity of the team’s core offering, ensuring delivery of software is of the highest standards in a timely manner
• Working with the development team, business analyst, SME’s and Test Leads analysing test requirements, creating, and documenting test cases in a structured and reusable format and designing effective test processes
• Executing any or all of component testing, system testing, integration testing, regression testing, non-functional testing, end-to-end testing and user acceptance testing in accordance with agreed test cases and test plans
• Defect Tracking – recording and follow-up to resolution
• Assisting in standardisation of testing processes and methodologies including making suggestions on improvements to test practices and efforts
• Maintaining Test documents such as but not limited to Test Plan, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, Test Data, Test Evidence and Datasheets for automation in document repository under Test Management tools, SharePoint and Confluence.
• Assist in preparation of UAT documents, where required
• Assist in execution of the UAT tests, where required
• Assist in test environment preparation, where required
• Provide daily/weekly project status reports, where required
• Participate in business meetings, where required

About you

To be successful in the role you will;

• Possess at least 5-7 years’ experience in Application & cloud testing
• Possess good communication and numeracy skills
• Be highly self-motivated, flexible, adaptable and results oriented
• Possess focused approach and be innovative and an accomplisher
• Good Track Record
• Will assist in improving current processes
• Possess knowledge of Test Management tools, Confluence, SharePoint, and JIRA
• Will be involved in all phases of testing and required to assist in definition of test requirements, estimation, planning and execution
• Willingness to work in different time zones
• Preferably have Computer Science degree or equivalent
• An understanding of the Data domain will be preferred
• Possess strong Logical and analytical skills
• An understanding of Agile and Waterfall Methodology followed within the IT Industry
• Experience with Cloud Technologies preferably Azure
• Strong sense of ownership with a passion for testing and delivering quality software
• Experience in preparing and execution of test documents, testing estimates and test reports to track progress

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is TfNSW Grade 6 ($94,879.00 – $104,367.00) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
