About this Opportunity:
Argo Sales currently has a position available for a Quality Control Inspector for ASME Section VIII, B31.3 & CWB fabrication at our Medicine Hat location.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring product conformity and compliance of the Quality Management System under the direction of the Quality Control Manager.
Position Responsibilities:
· Read & interpret blueprints/technical drawings.
· Must be willing and able to conduct and assist with all fabrication shop inspections as required.
· Carry out inspections in accordance with the rules and guidelines required by various international standards & regulatory bodies such as ASME & CWB
· Perform dimensional checks & conduct visual inspections throughout construction of products.
· Ensure the correct weld procedure is being used and followed by welding personnel during welding operations.
· Complete job forms as required by internal quality program and maintain quality records.
· Witnessing & documenting of testing.
· Ensure calibration of equipment is current.
· Recording heat numbers and weld mapping.
· Communicate & liaise with all departments and Inspectors.
· Any other duties as directed by the QC Manager.
Skills/Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Alberta Oil and Gas Industry; Manufacturing, Quality Control. Possession of a WET or CET Diploma would be an asset
· Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
· Team leadership skills – Experienced in coaching, mentoring and training within a QC department.
· Time management
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· CWB Inspection Cert Level II or higher and/or Weld Examiner Cert would be an asset
