POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Field CISO is a focused and dedicated technical thought leader for Fortinet with a focus in Canada reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Government Vertical for Latin America, the Caribbean and Canada. This is a senior level strategic technical position, will be responsible for the development and presentation of thought leadership across all verticals, threat intelligence in collaboration with the FortiGuard team, and security world class practices to business executives in key accounts and to the cyber community of the region, in addition to presenting at Executive Briefing Center Visits, Fortinet and channel events, and key tradeshows. Expert proficiency in developing and delivering key content to influence sales outcomes is key.
We are looking for someone with more than 15 years of experience in the IT security industry to act as a trusted advisor to organizations across Canada to help them improve their security postures and align security strategically with business initiatives and drive business outcomes for Fortinet. This person will assist or support Fortinet’s sales and marketing teams in creating marketing generated (MGO) and influenced opportunities (MIO) to drive revenue growth by helping them and partners successfully assess our technologies, solicit business requirements/use cases, understand how different platforms will work and integrate, develop technical strategies, and effectively demonstrate the solution that addresses partners/sales teams’ requirements. The Field CISO will work across the marketing team (field marketing, vertical and ABM, others), as well as with sales and engineering teams in the region and globally to achieve objectives.
The Field CISO will also work closely with Fortinet prospects and customers to maximize the growth and expansion of Fortinet products by targeting and developing strong relationships with new and existing partners, integrators and MSSPs in the region, ensuring the growth in usage of our products and solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build trusted relationships based on research and understanding of our prospective partners’ business objectives and how Fortinet products help in meeting those business objectives.
Measured against 1:1 and 1:Few engagements, driving relationships and opportunities as a “Trusted Advisor.”
Be a key driver for EBCs and top-level prospects and customer presentations, as a part of our ABM strategy in the region.
Assist sales teams and partners in creating new partnerships with our defined target markets, focusing mainly on the enterprise segment to include government.
Develop strong working relationships with Marketing team and other key stakeholders across the organization.
Challenge our current thinking and present with innovative solutions as to how we identify and assess our prospective partners and customers.
Ensure all and any risks are identified early, and that mitigation is planned and executed to protect the business, partners, and colleagues.
Be an ambassador and evangelist for Fortinet inside and outside of the organization.
Create or enhance an extensive network of contacts in the industry and associated industries.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
15+ years of relevant work experience as a security software, security hardware, architect, technology evangelist, or consultant.
Demonstrated proficiency with security products and ecosystems.
Highly networked in the CISO community, including CISO coalitions and summits, and regularly leveraging and working the inner circles of those connections to further promote the Fortinet brand and accelerate our business growth.
Exceptional negotiation, content creation, demonstration, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
Highly influential relationship builder.
Customer focused and commercially minded.
Proven track record in a similar role with clear evidence of successful execution.
Fortinet product knowledge and understanding of its developer ecosystem preferred.
Experience in SaaS models, Global ISV & Developer Programs highly desirable.
Public speaking phenom with great PowerPoint creation and presentation skills.
Successfully published white paper Guru/Ninja.
Gregarious at social events.
EDUCATION:
B.S./M.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or equivalent work experience.
Marketing and Sales knowledge a must. MBA a plus.
Multilingual preferred (English, French).
