What is the role about? This is a hands-on, full-time position performing day-to-day duties including updating weekly product costs, reconciliations and entering daily beef productions, and creating and modifying new products into the production/accounting system for the Controller, Production, and Accounting.

What will you be doing?

• Update weekly product costs, reconcile, and enter daily productions, and create and modify new products into the production/accounting system
• Coordinate the establishing and entering of new product information for approvals and input into the ERP system
• Work with processors to streamline information exchange
• Improve internal processes
• Document and create internal procedures and training guidelines
• Managing the inventory reconciliation process
• Sales data related responsibilities and analysis as assigned
• Enter data into computer spreadsheets, ledgers, worksheets, and other forms
• Compare data contained in a variety of financial records to detect errors/discrepancies
• Analyze Beef cut-outs, yield analysis, and cost analysis
• Coordinate activities associated with the sales posting process by working with all production accountants to ensure the process is working efficiently
• Perform monthly closing reconciliations and GL entries as assigned
• Cross-train in facets of production accounting
• Assist with training for new hires
• Work on special projects for management
• Train new Analysts and serve as mentors to the team
• Assist with other duties as assigned

What type of education is required? Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.

What experience will be needed? 3 to 5 years of cost accounting experience.

What additional skills will be needed to make you successful?

• Previous accounting or analytical review is highly required.
• Advanced knowledge in performing cost analysis, yield analysis, and beef cutout preferred.
• Previous beef production accounting experience is highly preferred.
• Must have exceptional MS Excel experience.
• Five years of beef and/or protein industry experience is highly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead, guide, train, and mentor team

What is the compensation? $48,000 to $70,000 (DOE)

What are the work hours? Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM hours may vary with the workload

The position is located at the Loveland Office.
