Marks & Spencer Hiring for Finance Analyst Job at London, England Full Time

The role would suit someone who enjoys working across a variety of teams, with a good understanding of transactional accounting processes, end to end financial control requirements with a commercial mentality.

You’ll be working closely with Finance Managers in commercial and FP&A teams who are based at our London office, so being able to build strong and positive relationships remotely is key.

You’ll also be providing insightful financial analysis in order to improve business performance, optimise spend, minimise costs and drive profit.

Key Accountabilities:

• Maintaining relationships with internal business partners across both the Finance and Commercial teams
• Delivering a combination of regular and ad-hoc financial information to support commercial decision making
• Preparing journals including handling accruals, provisions and month end reporting
• Preparing and submitting operating cost variance commentary
• Working on projects and initiatives across the Food teams platform
• Ensuring the integrity of balance sheet reconciliations are managed by highlighting any risks/opportunities in a timely manner and owning any associated resolution plans
• Assisting with ongoing and future transition of processes to the Manchester Team from the London team
• Working effectively as part of the wider finance team, influencing better and more informed decision making across all cost areas

Key Skills:

• An accounting background and studying towards an accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA)
• Strong communication skills
• Can identify any risks or opportunities to the business and make relevant recommendations
• Resolves complex issues and confident manipulating/interrogating large data sets
• Experience with business partnering and building relationships
• A flexible and proactive approach, can prioritise workload and deliver to agreed timeframes
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
