We are seeking exceptional candidates to fill multiple .Net Developer roles within the Compliance and Intel Team in our Technology Branch.

Eligibility

• To be eligible for employment with the FWO you must be an Australian citizen.
• The successful candidate must hold a current Australian Government Security Clearance (AGSVA) or be willing to undergo and obtain a Baseline security clearance.
• Subject to the public health advice in place from time to time, the successful candidate will be required to attend the FWO offices regularly and, depending on the role, be required to attend other locations. About the team

The Compliance and Intel team manage applications development, enhancements, maintenance and support of FWO applications/systems include the FWO Pay and Classification Tool (PACT) to ensure reliable and robust technology. The team implement industry-best practises across IT service management within the Technology Branch in support of business improvement and innovation initiatives.

About the role

Successful candidates for the .Net Developer roles will work as part of a small, dedicated team and contribute to the development, maintenance, enhancements and support of applications within the FWO environment. The role is responsible for the design, creation, testing, documentation and support of applications, including the investigation and resolution of issues and incidents.

Typical duties

Under limited direction, the duties of the .Net developer include, but not limited to:

• Assist in developing and maintaining high quality web applications, implementing modern best practices using the Oracle OIA, .NET framework and related web technologies.
• Provide coding, unit testing, code review and other quality assurance tasks as required.
• Coordinate and organise deployment to higher environments according to release process, include writing release instructions and scripts and liaise with various stakeholders.
• Develop and deploy the working environment supporting systems and software life cycle practices for strategic, large and complex products and services.
• Assisting the Senior Developer in System Administration for Oracle OIA and performing various standard system admin duties including user role assignment, patching etc.
• Assist in activities to manage risks associated with systems and software life cycle working practices.
• Assist with the smooth running and operational service parameters like availability, capacity, security and continuity of the applications.
• Work with other teams in Technology Branch / DESE to integrate organisational policies, standards and techniques across the full software and systems life cycle.
• Undertake software development and assist in solution design of web applications in line with departmental standards and methodologies, especially Oracle OIA.

• A proven ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand the needs of Business and to efficiently deliver high quality work
• Development Experience using .Net / Oracle suite of products
• Cloud experience (MS Azure / Oracle Cloud)
• The ability to work under pressure & tight deadlines
• Strong analytical & logical ability
