Shelley Automation Hiring for Controls/AutoCAD Electrical Designer at North York, ON Full Time

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Design Automated PLC control systems using Autocad Electrical incorporating equipment from manufacturers such as Allen Bradley, Yaskawa and Parker
• Provide design documentation including:
• Component specifications and approval based on customer requirements
• Safety Architecture and plan layouts for safety audit purposes
• Safety calculations for light curtain areas as well as safety network response times
• Load calculations on power distribution panels, control power supplies
• Provide Bill of Materials based on system design
• Fabrication, wiring and trouble-shooting control panel
• Coordinate with other disciplines to streamline delivery
• Validate system safeties function as designed
• Ability to understand and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge/understanding of the Electrical Safety Code.
• Responsible for electrical safety on a project.
• Utilizes analytical skills to reach a clear and concise conclusion.
• Be able to perform electrical control installations at customer site

Education:

• Engineering Technologist/Technician Diploma

Experience:

• Minimum 3 – 5 years direct working experience
• Good understanding of other project disciplines (i.e. Mechanical Design)
• Working knowledge of PLC architecture including discrete and remote I/O
• Working knowledge of communication networks (Devicenet, Ethernet IP, RIO, Profibus)
• Working knowledge of Autocad software with Acad Electrical
• Direct experience with control reliable circuits and Safety PLC Systems and knowledge of the applicable safety standards with respect to automated equipment
• Must have valid driver’s license and be able to commute to customer sites for project installations
