Wellness Institute of Neurodevelopment Hiring for Special Education Teacher at Guaynabo, PR Full Time

We are looking for a special education teacher with at least 5 years of experience who can design a
plan and provide for appropriate learning experiences for patients with neurological disabilities in a
clinical setting. Our clinic provides a unique environment were medical treatments are combined with
therapeutic approaches with the main goal of academic and personal success.
In this position, you would be responsible for creating a flexible program and learning environment
that provides specialized instruction to stimulate the acquisition of skills in children and adults with
neurodevelopmental conditions, such as: Autism, ADHD, Speech Delay, among others. The
professional will bring their educational background to the clinical scenario.
The ideal candidate should be interested in learning avant-garde techniques and methodologies of
treatments.
Main duties and responsibilities:

• Meet with patient and relatives to discuss the patient’s progress and to determine priorities for the

student and their individualized educational needs.

• Confer with parents, health providers, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, and other

professionals to develop individualized education programs designed to promote students’
educational, physical, and social/emotional development.

• Maintain accurate and complete progress records and prepare reports on patients and activities.
• Establish clear objectives and communicate those objectives to caregivers
• Develop plans for effective communication, monitoring, and follow-up of patients

Requirements and qualifications:

• Bachelor degree or higher in Special Education or related degree
• Minimum 5 years experience with patients/students with neurological disabilities in a clinical setting
• Experience in diagnosing and assessing learning disorders
• Experience in educating special needs students
• Proven effective classroom and student behavior management skills
• Knowledge of current special education practices and methodologies
• Knowledge and understanding of state, local and federal regulations and policies affecting special

education

• Working knowledge of educational technology applications
