Learn Welsh the Vale delivers a full programme of Welsh courses for adults on behalf of the National Centre for Learning Welsh. The team is part of the Adult Community Learning department which serves learners across the Vale. Following the new appointment of the current post-holder, we are seeking a new Learning Support Officer to manage the provision, and a small team of committed tutors who put the needs of the learner at the heart of every action

About the role

Pay Details: JNC Youth & Community Point 23-26 £34,015-£36,973

Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours per week (Full time)

Main Place of Work: Palmerston Community Learning Centre, Barry CF63 2NT

Temporary Reason: Contract for three years initially due to grant funding

Description:
Reporting to the Culture and Community Learning, the Learning Development Officer- Learn Welsh will be a key team member, responsible for:

Managing the delivery of Learn Welsh & Work Welsh programmes

Managing a team of tutors and administrative staff

Maintaining the quality of provision to Estyn standards

Budgeting, data and performance measures

Planning and delivering a comprehensive learning programme

Promoting the Welsh language and Adult Learning opportunities

About you

Excellent language Skills in Welsh and English

Experience of success in an educational role

Excellent skills in organisation, time management, presenting and training

The ability to work independently

Honours Degree and a relevant teaching or training qualification.

A wide range of digital and information technology skills
