The Grasso Companies Hiring for Construction Accountant Job at Stamford, CT Full Time

Grasso Companies is seeking an enthusiastic and self motivated individual to join our accounting/finance team. Prior construction experience is required.

Responsibilities include the following: Others may be assigned.

• Monthly AIA requisitions for multiple projects
• Coordination with PM’s for all billing support
• Follow thru with owners
• Input and tracking of all change orders
• Review job payment status from owners.
• Tracking and reporting of incoming receivables to Controller
• Report of open payables related to incoming money.
• Lien Waivers
• Verify invoices for job costing codes and accuracy
• Input and maintain up to date payables reporting
• Subcontractor maintenance- Making sure that Subcontractor furnishes W-9
• Receive certificates of insurance and review for accuracy
• Receive weekly certified payrolls and review for accuracy
• Handle all phone calls regarding payment from vendors and subcontractors and maintain constant communication and relationship.
• Ensure that subcontractors and vendors have complied with all administrative requirements prior to payment being made so as to not hold up their payment
• Review open payables on each job to determine payment status to vendors and subcontractors
• Select invoices to be paid weekly, releases checks, and collect lien waivers
• Ensure that information pertinent to jobs are scanned to job files. ie AIA Reqs, change orders, Lien Waivers, certified payrolls, insurance certs
• Maintain organized work area and job files in order to promote the highest level of efficiency

Required Skills:

* Construction experience with exposure to AIA requisitions, lien waivers, certified payrolls

* 2+ Years Payables and Recevables experience

* Proficient in MS Excel

* 10 key calculator operation

* Strong written and verbal communication

*Knowledge of Sage a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
