YOUR ROLE IN A NUTSHELL:

The Assistant Accountant contributes to the success of WPP AUNZ by ensuring operational finance and exceptional accounting services in a timely, efficient and effective manner. The contribution of the role to the success of Finance is through the provision of exceptional service and accounting support to our clients, enabling them to manage the financial aspects of their business.

WHAT YOU WILL SPEND YOUR TIME DOING:

The Assistant Accountant will work with the Finance Manager with the day to day financial accounting and reporting duties for one or more Operating Companies (OpCo) within WPP AUNZ. The role is also responsible for engaging and partnering closely with key stakeholders across the business and within Finance on a daily basis.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Tertiary education (and ideally working toward completing CPA/CA qualification)
• 1+ years’ experience in similar role/s with responsibilities managing internal and external stakeholders, ideally having experience in Media / creative / digital industries
• Knowledge of technical accounting skills
• Technology skills including in MS Excel, database applications and ERP systems
• Experience using accounting processing tools (e.g. Blackline or equivalent)
• Customer focus
• Able to manage and build relationships both internally and externally
• Excellent written and oral communication skills – articulate
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability and experience in working with and meeting key performance targets
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and to adapt in changing environment
• Courteous assertiveness
