We are a leading property tech startup looking to grow our tech team over the next few months to support the exciting new features we have planned. We are dedicated to building a platform that helps renters and landlords alike and therefore all applicants will be bright, energetic and have a passion for problem-solving.

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 Subject to experience

Location: Remote

Main purpose of role: As a Software Engineer, you will be expected to take a lead in building and producing new features and products as well as assist fellow developers with challenges and issues they maybe facing. Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to grasp and explain complex ideas are key to this role.

Requirements:

• Strong OOP PHP experience
• Experience with MVC frameworks, ideally Laravel
• Source code version control (preferably Git)
• Automated testing (preferably PHPUnit)
• Database development (MySql)
• Ability to understand and breakdown complex requirements
• Proven analytical capabilities

Desirable:

• Experience with a modern front end JS framework e.g VUE
• HTML, JS, CSS (SASS)
• Systems administration
• Project management systems such as JIRA
• Experience building REST APIs
• Active contribution to open source projects
• Qualification in Maths, Computing or equivalent
• Docker

Interview Process

All applicants will be required to complete a PHP code challenge to demonstrate they have the ability to perform in the role. The code test will need to be deployed to a public Git repository where it will be reviewed by a Senior Developer. This will be followed by a telephone interview and a face to face interview.
