From selling solar panels to batteries to carbon-neutral energy, all the way through to virtual power plants, Smart Energy is putting solar on the map.

Since establishment in 2016, Smart Energy has accumulated a customer base of over 20,000 happy solar and battery customers. There are a few stages involved with securing these customers; following the sale and installation of our solar systems, our finance team is then responsible for ensuring that payments are collected and in turn, our Solar Specialists are remunerated for their sales.

We are seeking a customer centric, problem-solving, administration expert to help manage our onshore and offshore accounts team in reaching monthly collection targets, this is where you come in. You will be the key point of contact for our Solar Specialists for any finance enquiries relating to the closure of their sale. The role of Accounts Assistant is offered on a full-time basis with standard hours based out of our Byron Bay head office.

Every day, you’ll be:

• Raising and managing customer invoices
• Collaborating with financiers to settle finance applications
• Collaborating with sales staff and customers to understand and close out deal variations
• Collecting and cataloguing missing information from the customer, sales and operations departments
• Managing current and aged receivables
• Solving ad hoc finance queries from business stakeholders
• KPI reporting on key collection metrics
• Managing collection improvement projects
• Performing administrative and clerical tasks, such as data entry, preparing invoices, sending bill reminders, filing paperwork, and contacting clients to discuss their accounts
• Generating reports and statements for internal use

You must have:

• Customer service experience
• Administrative skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Experience using Google Sheets or Excel

Bonus points:

• Prior knowledge of Xero or an equivalent accounting system
• Previous collections/accounts receivable experience
• Experience with a SaaS CRM (we use Salesforce)
