ICT Service Desk Engineer
Salary: £22,571 – £23,484
Hours: 37 Hours per week
Workbase: Usually this role is based in Parkhouse, Carlisle but it will involve working from home.

Cumbria County Council are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy ICT Service.
This is an exciting and challenging time to join us, as throughout the organisation we are working in many new ways, and our team is ensuring as many service areas and working scenarios are supported, and enabling the Council to provide all of it’s essential functions in innovative and dynamic ways.
A great opportunity to join the ICT Service Desk which is a key delivery mechanism for the Council’s services, to its customers both internal and external, its partners, officers and members, and the Council’s digital strategy.
As part of the Service Centre Operation this role is essential to ensure the efficient and robust delivery of ICT support within the Council.
The Service Desk Engineer is front line, first point of contact support taking calls, logging tickets and performing first time fixes.
This role is required to deliver a high-quality service that meets the customer needs both internal and external whilst optimising technology and improved processes to deliver an excellent customer experience.

The ideal candidate will work in a flexible, professional manner, and have an extensive knowledge of the project management lifecycle. We are looking for someone with great communication and influencing skills, who has the ability to recommend, shape and improve business practices.

We are currently operating virtual interviews. This will preferably be undertaken using the Microsoft Teams software, which is currently free for new users, however if there are any issues with accessing this technology, we are happy to discuss alternative arrangements prior to the interviews.
