Job Description

The Merry Dairy is a small batch, handmade frozen custard and ice cream company based in the neighborhood of Hintonburg, Ottawa at 102 Fairmont Avenue. We take a lot of pride that our ice cream is made from scratch and that we are a part of the local community as a place to visit with friends or family. We also operate a mobile ice cream truck and two ice cream carts for catered events at schools, weddings, office events and festivals.

We’re striving to be the happiest part of people’s day, and this starts with our team. We’re looking for a diverse group of individuals who all share a common interest of taking care of each other and our guests.

Job Requirements for Ice Cream Scoopers

• Can stay unapologetically positive in a high volume & customer-facing position for 6-8 hours
• Can stand on your feet for long periods and perform physically-demanding tasks
• 17 years or older
• Available for at least 4 shifts a week up until September and 3-4 in September including weekends and week nights
• Current Food Handler’s Certification a plus (can get this once job offer is made)
• Respect for safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work in close proximity to others
• Must be able to clean and do it well! (this includes mopping, scrubbing, cleaning up spilled ice cream, emptying trash, sweeping and generally making our shop shine every day!)
