SGS Australia has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, capable and dedicated Management Accountant to join our Finance team at Perth-WA

Responsible for month-end & capex reporting, detailed review and analysis of financial information, preparation of forecast models, projects and process improvement.

Responsibilities will include, however are not limited to:

• Prepare accurate and timely financial data for use by stakeholders, both internal and external to Finance.
• Ensure quality and integrity of financial data through thorough review of source data.
• Prepare value adding financial summaries relating to ongoing, and ad hoc, reporting requirements.
• Prepare month end journals for allocated Businesses – throughout month and also at month end.
• Prepare detailed forecasts and comparisons to budget, actual and prior periods as required.
• Consolidate Business group reports with appropriate variance analysis and commentary.
• Review detailed transaction listings and other finance exception reports to ensure month end results are correctly stated.
• Manage the balance sheet, including general ledger reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance to business financial controls, including but not limited to:

• Commitment of costs via the purchase order system, including receipting in the correct period.
• Inventory management, including stock takes.
• Ensure payroll reports are appropriately authorised.
• Drive purchasing compliance to preferred suppliers.

• Prepare capital expenditure applications including Discounted Cash Flow calculations and business case analysis.
• Monitor the status of capital expenditure orders and equipment delivery compared to forecast/budget.
• Perform sensibility / reasonableness checks on all financial data relating to allocated Businesses.
• Write reports and presentations communicating the results of analysis performed.
• Assist with modelling and pricing in respect of potential new business, scope changes and contract renewals.

As the successful candidate you will have:

• Bachelor Degree in Commerce, majoring in Accounting.
• Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant.
• Previous experience in a similar position, with comprehensive working knowledge of general finance practices and processes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
• Experience with finance ERP systems would be preferred.
