Position: Staff Accountant

McDowell Enterprises is seeking 2-3 full time qualified staff accountants to join our growing accounting team at our corporate headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ. Each of our Staff Accountants have an excellent opportunity to prepare and maintain financial records to track one of our many entity’s assets, liabilities, profit & loss, and other related financial activities. In addition, you will have the opportunity to be a part of the full-scope accounting cycle for each of the entities you are responsible for managing.

Compensation: $60K-$65K DOE

Benefits

• Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits are available after 60 days of full-time employment, beginning on the first day of the following month.
• Paid Time Off (PTO) benefits will be two weeks per year accruing pro-rata over 26 pay periods.
• Company’s 401K plan after 6 months of employment beginning on the first day of the following month.

Essential Functions

Monthly

• Accurately and precisely maintain General Ledger for multiple entities.
• Directly manage all areas of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Maintain monthly fixed asset schedules
• Perform account analysis and reconciliations
• File monthly sales tax for business units
• Compile and prepare monthly financial statements including Balance Sheet and Income Statements for review.
• Assist with monthly Investor distributions

Annually

• Prepare full year financial statements for tax preparation
• Prepare 1099’s for distribution

Requirements:

• Education and/or experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related fields.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience
• Ability to work in a team environment under firm deadlines
• Strong computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word), NetSuite and QuickBooks software experience is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management
• Adaptable to change and variety
• Construction experience is a plus

Pay: $60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
