ASSIST TUTORS:

Job Description – For Tutor of English, Mathematics and Science:

Job Title: Tutor of Core Subject/s

Working hours: Flexible Hours starting from 5pm Monday – Friday. Saturday, and
Sunday from 9am.

Working weeks: Term Time – From September 2022

Responsible to: Centre Manager and Centre Coordinator

Rate of Pay: Based on Experience of Candidate

Job Purpose:

To join our team of English, Maths and Science tutors in order to support our teaching and assessments in the centres to reinforce and support teaching. As well as provide support in the appointed subject/s by supporting students on a 1:1 basis or group basis across Key Stages.

This role will involve teaching subject specific content and ensuring student understanding.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide one to one or small group academic support to students aged 4,10 and

11-19 in Key Stages 1, 2 3, 4 and/or 5.

• To work with the centre manager, centre coordinators and centre administrators to provide effective academic support to pupils in need of one to one or group tuition.
• To provide one to one and small group tuition, baseline assessing pupil’s prior knowledge, continuing to and delivering lessons whilst assessing its impact overtime on penultimate week before the half term.
• Liaise with staff, parents, and pupils to ensure high levels of attendance and engagement

Safeguarding and Child Protection:

• Knows what to do if they have concerns about a child – speak to the Centre

Manager directly

• Prove and be able to work with young people and not have any records affecting this.

• Take on the responsibility for providing a safe environment and promoting children’s welfare.

Additional Duties:

• To carry out any other duties as directed by the Centre Coordinator or Centre

Manager that are within the scope, purpose, and spirit of the role.

• Be flexible and committed to work across both centres and cover lessons as and when asked if late notice.
• Be able to feedback any issues to the Centre Coordinator/Centre Manager appropriately.
