As part of the UA CSI Development team, you’ll help create, build and maintain our tools and infrastructure. You really enjoy working with a variety of people, including customers, product teams, and other colleagues in a fast paced and exciting environment. You’re a team player and enjoy working with fun and interesting individuals that collaborate to deliver the infrastructure, tools, applications, and services to support operational business, and enable teams at SAP to create, manage, and deliver state-of-the-art user assistance content.

What you’ll do

Position Title: SAP iXp Intern – UA CSI Software Developer

Location: Vancouver, BC

Expected start date to end date: September 06, 2022 – April 28, 2023

In this role, you’ll

SAP UA CSI is looking for a software developer with a passion for java and javascript development in the field of content and publication management. This position focuses on both backend java and frontend javascript development as it applies to our content and publication management platform, its software stack, and the underlying infrastructure. The individual should have a passion for data management, security, and efficiency, have strong software development experience using java-based technologies and components, have knowledge of web servers and secure infrastructure, and enjoy learning about and working with UI frontend javascript frameworks.

Be a part of the UA CS Development Team in Ireland, working with colleagues in various international locations. If you enjoy solving problems, working with new and innovative technology, developing tools and ensuring that systems are operating efficiently, you’ll fit right in. You’ll have the opportunity to take part in the following:

Work as part of a virtual team that is responsible for developing applications, tools and features end-to-end. This involves being part of all aspects of the development and operational processes.

Actively look for ways to innovate and improve our tools and processes.

Support a large customer base and troubleshooting complex and challenging technical problems.

Prototyping new technologies in the context of large data management.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who can challenge the status quo and likes to stay curious. You enjoy working on meaningful projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

Review requirements and work with other engineering staff on technical solutions

Experience and interest in frontend development, specifically VUE, SAP UI5, and Angular

Experience and interest in frontend design and user experience

Development of new features related to content and publication management

Ability to solve problems creatively and quickly

Good knowledge of selenium and junit for test automation

Ability to demo features and technical concepts with senior leadership and product management

Multi-tasking – Ability to manage multiple tasks and objectives simultaneously.

Composure under Pressure – ability to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.

Ensure delivered functionality meets the requirements of external and internal stakeholders.

Interest in user assistance, technical communication, content design and content strategy

Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security or related field

2+ year’s experience in JAVA Software Development, or something similar

Experience with JAVA Design Patterns

Experience with javascript and javascript frameworks (UI5, VUE, Angular, etc..)

Ability to work in an agile development environment and capable of working effectively in cross-cultural global teams

Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills

Strong analytical skills, results-oriented, customer-oriented attitude, good strategic and conceptual thinking skills
