Rock Solid Knowledge are searching for a driven, enthusiastic apprentice to join their team. The apprentice’s responsibilities include learning and developing practical skills, participating in classes and workshops through their online learning platform, observing all health and safety codes, completing tests and assignments, as well as delivering presentations to staff and other stakeholders. You should be well-organized, flexible, and willing to assist wherever possible.

As a group of experienced freelance trainers and consultants they realised that if they could combine their varied skills into a team then they could deliver far more than each of them as individuals and so, Rock Solid Knowledge was born. They strive to design and develop software that provides an incomparable customer experience. Rock Solid Knowledge operates on a flat structure built up of mostly Software Engineers. They value having open communication lines, employee satisfaction and transparency – which, because of their structure, are all made possible. They ensure everyone has a personal training budget, to spend on conference attendance or external training courses. They provide Pluralsight licenses for personal learning and run in house training were appropriate.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Software Development Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

• Attending workshops and participating in as many learning opportunities as possible.
• You will be assisting the delivery of first class web and mobile applications using the latest frameworks and tools such as Angular, CSS and .NET, HTML, JavaScript and C#
• Assisting within the relevant projects, but also learning about other aspects of the company.
• You will assist in the backend development including code reviews, testing and pair programming whilst developing skills in Web API, .Net Core and C#
• Observing health and safety procedures.
• Developing custom solutions from planning and analysis through to testing and deployment
• Completing all tests, presentations, and other required evaluations.
• Attending meetings and offering suggestions for improvement.
• Building professional relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Rock Solid Knowledge will provide you with a wide range of work opportunities across multiple sectors, ensuring you always have interesting and fulfilling work.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

• An understanding of C#, .Net, JavaScript and CSS would be beneficial
• A passion for a career in web and app development
• Ability to work as part of team and open to asking questions and using initiative
• Eager to learn
• A grade 4/C at GCSE in English and Maths is required for this role

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

• £18,000 – £25,000 per annum
• 25 days holidays plus bank holidays, increasing to 26 after 3 years, and to 27 after 5 years.
• Pension: 8% of salary, made up of 4% employer contribution and 4% employee
• We are currently providing hybrid working, 3 days in office with the opportunity to work from home 2 days a week.

Your Training with Baltic:
With our unique apprenticeship programme, you’ll build an impressive range of coding skills and learn to thrive as a junior developer. On completion, 95% of our learners remain in full-time employment or progress onto our Level 4 Software Developer qualification.
