Job Title: Head of Finance and Controlling
Reports to: Head of Global Finance & Controlling RMS
Department: SBU RMS Global Finance and Controlling

Principal Purpose
To ensure tax, accounting and controlling compliance for CZ Microscopy UK. Responsible for process optimization and documentation of tax, accounting and controlling related processes.
Principal Elements
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements (as of year end preparation of statutory financial statements including notes)
  • Responsible for group reporting on a monthly basis, including notes, to enable reporting at year end in alignment with the services accounting and tax team
  • Prepare corporation tax in conjunction with tax service providers. Provide VAT related information to tax service provider
  • To input and provide relevant supporting documentation for CZ Microscopy tax claims (e.g. patent box, R&D claim, claims relating to the tax super deduction scheme or other tax claims) in conjunction with tax service providers.
  • Preparation of transfer price documentation for CZ Microscopy UK
  • To be the first point of contact for interfaces, e.g. ZEISS services accounting and tax, auditors, tax and SFS consultants, actuarial advisor, HMRC etc.
  • Challenge tax & accounting related processes for optimization and compliance purposes. Prepare relevant documentation of tax & accounting processes to ensure compliance requirements are met.
  • To adapt processes if required in alignment with the supervisor and ZEISS CSOPs and SOPs à main contact person for CZ Microscopy UK SAO and company secretary.
  • Perform regular tax and accounting related process walk-throughs and test of controls
  • Perform cost centre planning and monthly controlling. To be the main point of contact for the Head of Production Centre Controlling and Head of Planning & Reporting
  • Perform ad hoc analysis to Balance Sheet and P&L line items.

Location
Based in ZEISS House, Cambourne, Cambridge. International travel required.

Performance Measures
Annual appraisals to be undertaken by Head of Global Finance & Controlling RMS and objectives set for the forthcoming year.

Skillset
  • Excellent understanding of tax & accounting (IFRS)
  • Proven experience in process excellence
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of SAP
  • Experience with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Education
  • Master of Business Administration qualification
  • Further qualification ACCA
  • 3+ years of professional experience in one of the BIG 4 audit companies or within a finance & controlling department of a leading global company
