We are looking for a dedicated HR professional to join us as HR Manager (Europe) and a key player in our future success by partnering with management and acting as a trusted advisor as we are targeting growth.
The role
Reporting to the Managing Director of Europe and Africa, you will run the day-to-day HR activities and oversee all HR-related administrative duties within the ABL London office and the European Region. You will be working with employees and managers from all organisational levels and interacting with all company functions to provide excellent customer service to all colleagues and to support the company’s directors in nurturing a high-performance and positive culture.
As HR Manager, you will be required to focus on using best business practices to improve efficiency, thus reducing operating costs whilst increasing productivity.
HR administration of full employee life-cycle; to include onboarding, employment agreements, induction, annual leave, sick leave, and benefits. To include overseeing the upkeep of Organograms, Skills Matrix, and Job Descriptions
Maintain HR data – ensuring headcount is up to date and accurate, including personnel files
Conduct appropriate audits to ensure HR data integrity across the region
Report Census Data as required to appropriate bodies
Maintain Office procedures/Staff Handbooks for the region – ensuring implementation and adherence
Managing contract documentation for any changes in terms, salaries, bonuses, etc.
Assist with TUPE Transfers between entities if required
Assist with the administration and management of full subcontractor files ensuring necessary documents are maintained and in date
Management of Payroll – London entities, including OWC, Germany, and Denmark
Management of UK Benefit Schemes, Pension Schemes, and Pension Governance
Management of UK Mobile Phones & Building Passes
Assistance with Recruitment & Selection Processes and Interviews if required
Coordinate the annual appraisal process for the region
Provide support to managers for all HR matters such as disciplinary-/grievances, misconduct, and absences, and provide staff welfare support and manage all employee relations issues
Keeping up to date on Visa requirements and applying for visa renewals
Provide advice to employees on HR-related queries (benefits, policies and procedures, etc.)
Participate in the implementation of specific (HR/ payroll) projects, procedures, and guidelines
The role is based in London, and the incumbent has the right to work and reside in the UK. It is a hybrid role, but some flexibility in working hours and willingness to travel and work within a variety of time zones will be required.
Qualifications and experience required
We are looking for an independent self-starter with great attention to detail and the ability to make decisions and at the same time be part of a team. Your proactive approach inspires trust, and it is natural for you to establish relations with leaders ad employees. You are collaborative by nature and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, you will have:
CIPD Certification in HR Management or master’s degree or equivalent
At least 10 years of relevant HR working experience
A good understanding of and experience in delivering HR life cycle processes
Solid working knowledge of country/state employment law
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software
Excellent command of the English language (spoken/written)
Ability to organize and prioritize work and deliver a high standard to tight deadlines
Evidence of tact and discretion in dealing with confidential or sensitive matters
Knowledge of Visa requirements and Insurance is desirable but not essential
Knowledge of oil & gas – desirable but not essential
Knowledge of IR35, GDPR, and TUPE is desirable
