Title: Assistant Controller Department: Accounting

Classification: Full-time, Exempt Pay Grade: $80,000- $100,000

Summary Description: *
We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our team for day-to-day accounting activities. The ideal candidate should enjoy working in an office environment where creative thinking, problem solving, analysis, efficiency, autonomy, and initiative are required. The successful candidate should be a team-player, excellent communicator and be able to multitask while maintaining a high regard for the details. Adaptability and positivity are key qualities to be successful in this role.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

• Perform successful month-end closing process
• Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Assist in processing payroll

• Managing all aspects of the general ledger
• Providing monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting / analyses for multiple entities
• Coordinating and assisting with the budget process
• Analyzing and reporting cost variances

• Managing Construction draws
• Bank reconciliations

• Researching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles

Level Requirements (Minimum):

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Highly proficient with QuickBooks, and Excel
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete assignments within deadlines
• Ability to multitask
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• 5+ years accounting experience

Additional Requirements:

• CPA Preferred
• Experience with ADP systems
• Knowledge of General Accounting, Financial reporting, and GAAP concepts
• Experience with Development Pro Forma Reports
• General Ledger Accounting experience

• Required to regularly communicate verbally and electronically with others and exchange accurate information.
• Occasionally move up to 25 pounds as needed.
• Candidate must be able to work within an office environment, regularly use computers and office equipment, frequently ascend/descend stairs as required, stooping /bending, pushing/pulling.
• Driving personal vehicle for errands required. Valid State issued driver’s license, State Minimum Insurance, and clean driving record required.
